June
11, 2003 – I am very grateful to those who have sent support
and donations to date. My Los Angeles dealer, Nicholas
Wilder, once
said, "If you
want to support the arts, buy a painting." In my case, I
feel I have been trying almost single-handedly to champion and
promote
the continued
development of true modernism and aesthetically important abstract
painting and sculpture. This unique web site
is one of the ways I continue to do this, and keeping it going
feels like the right thing to do. Your help makes YOU a valued
sponsor.
Thanks to you, the educational and aesthetic value of the site
will continue to grow and survive.

to all for your needed support; and to everyone else, JOIN the Tribe!
With your help, I have
managed to
put out the bandwidth fire. But to keep abstract-art going
I do need a few sales, or outright donations.
June 1,
2003 ABSTRACT-ART.COM AT RISK! Because
we are getting so many hits, and because of the thousands of jpg
images now online at abstract-art, extra bandwidth usage is costing
me $30-$40
per month extra in addition to the cost of server space, software,
and my time.
[Update - 7/1/03: I have moved the site from Verio to another server, AHB.ca, which allows abstract-art.com unlimited bandwidth.]
With very
little financial and production help, I have built the site up over
the past 7 years to its present status as a major destination on
the world wide web, attracting up to 1000 hits daily from all over
the globe. There
are no 3rd-party banners or popups. Do you value the site?
Are you willing to help?
Few art
lovers have been supportive of abstract-art.com (lots
of kudos – but that and $2.50 will get me a latté)
and to those, our thanks for donating. I hope others might be willing
to make a small donation as well. www.abstract-art.com can only
continue with
your help!
You can

from
me, and a fair and better shot of being included on the

Whether you donate to get put on the site, or just to help
us keep the site running, Thank You! :–) - RD

If you
are a donor who also happens to be an artist, your work will be
included in our new Contributing
Artist Gallery, and if it feels right, another
image will be included in the More Artists Gallery, or the New
Artists Gallery, along with links to your web site. This is my
way of giving extra thanks to fellow artists who are able to help.
