Lawrence Stafford's spray paintings of 1968-69 are a rare and exquisite treat for the eye and the mind. Reminiscent of the sea and electronic music these gentle and beautifully evocative pictures calmly assert themselves. Stafford's work is rarely seen, but in the late sixties he had important solo exhibitions in New York and Germany. His work is in many private collections and several public collections, including the Whitney Museum in New York and The Wallraf-Richartz Museum in Cologne, Germany. | ||||||
