Catusco
was a pioneer who helped set the stage for a new way of seeing.Like
Mondrian who spoke of "bringing the universal downward"
so wecould understand it, Catusco created in his work a transcendental
language. I see in his paintings and drawings the formation of cells,
planets andsolar systems--the microcosm and macrocosm mirroring each
other and life creating itself. More importantly, I see holy images
that remind us of the not quite touchable world of mystery. Images
are not depicted ona concrete level, but as the force that stands
behind everyday reality.
